DGP Haryana said 15-day special campaign will be launched to crack down on hardcore criminals in the state. He issued instructions in a meeting regarding crime control, cyber fraud, and the resolution of pending complaints.

Panchkula: The Haryana government has approved 204 new positions in the Haryana Cybercrime Coordination Center (H4C) to effectively combat fast increasing cybercrimes in the state. He said the police will launch a special campaign for the next 15 days to nab hardcore criminals in the state. The DGP directed night blockades, patrols, and the effective use of technology. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)-2025 report, Haryana has recorded a 166.5% increase in cybercrime cases in the last three years.

The newly approved posts include seven gazetted officers, 161 police officers, 12 ministerial employees, and 15 Group D employees. Additionally, nine IT experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cyber security, software development, and network administration will be hired on a contract basis. This will strengthen cybercrime monitoring, investigation, and coordination between various agencies. Crime control and cybersecurity were reviewed at a meeting of senior officers chaired by DGP Ajay Singhal at Police Headquarters, Panchkula. It was reported that by September 2026, crimes registered under the BNS had decreased by 9.35 percent compared to the previous year.

As regard online monitoring of pending complaints, the police have created an online monitoring module to monitor complaints. Through this, the Superintendent of Policein every district will be able to view pending complaints in the district and ensure timely resolution of pending cases by inquiring about the reasons for the delay. The DGP directed that victims of cyber fraud be provided prompt relief.
