State Police Plan Seat Belt Crackdown, Free Child Safety Seat Checks in November | #childsafety | #kids | #chldern | #parents | #schoolsafey

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Pennsylvania State Police will increase seat belt enforcement throughout November as part of the statewide “Click It or Ticket” campaign, while also offering free child passenger safety seat inspections in several local counties.

The enforcement campaign will run from Monday, November 9, through Monday, November 30, 2026, with troopers adopting a zero-tolerance approach to violations of Pennsylvania’s seat belt and child passenger restraint laws.

According to state police, motorists stopped for a traffic violation who are also found to be violating seat belt laws will receive separate citations for both offenses.

Troopers throughout Troop C will also conduct regulatory checkpoints and child safety seat checkpoints during the campaign.

State police remind motorists that Pennsylvania law requires children younger than 8 to be properly secured in a federally approved child safety seat. Children age 2 and younger must be secured in a rear-facing child safety seat, according to the release.

As part of the campaign, state police will offer free child passenger safety seat inspections to help parents and caregivers ensure their seats are properly installed.

During the inspections, troopers will check for installation problems, defective equipment, and manufacturer recalls. Parents will also receive instructions on correcting any issues.

The following inspection events are scheduled:
