If you thought you had a few more weeks left before worrying about flu season, think again.
Flu season is heating up early this year, and the numbers are hard to ignore. Flu activity is growing or likely growing in 39 states, and flu test positivity jumped up to 7.6% during the week ending October 28. At this time last year, it hadn’t even cracked 1%, according to the CDC.
With flu activity already on the rise, it might be wise to stock up on some cold-and-flu season essentials before the holiday shopping rush kicks in. Plenty of deals are already rolling in, from Emergen-C and rapid COVID-19 and flu tests to a few extra additions for your medicine cabinet.
One surprisingly popular and affordable find is Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray, which retails for just $13 on Amazon. The convenient spray is made with propolis sourced from wildflower honeybees, which the brand says contains more than 300 beneficial compounds, including antioxidant-rich flavonoids and polyphenols.
According to the brand, the natural formula helps support the immune system while soothing dry, scratchy throats — and one of our very own Post Wanted staff says it’s seriously effective.

The shopping team has tested all sorts of cold-weather staples and immunity supplements, but this $13 throat spray has earned especially high praise from Senior Audience Optimization Strategist Meagan Seward and Commerce Reporter Carrie Berk.
“I was convinced to get this after my cousin told me she used it for her preschooler and middle-schooler, and no one in her house got sick once last winter,” shared Seward. It’s such an easy hack to defend yourself against the nasties of the season.”
And Berk is also singing praises.
“I wasn’t sure that a drug-free, honey-based throat spray could make much of a difference when I felt a sore throat coming on,” she explained. “Now it’s one of the first things I reach for when that feeling starts. It melts the pain away, and has helped me get through many colds.”
Thousands of Amazon shoppers have also left rave reviews of the simple spray, saying it’s easy to use and fast-acting. It’s also pesticide-free and third-party tested for safety and purity.
As with any supplement, be sure to consult your physician prior to use — especially if you have any preexisting conditions.
